Our class had a midterm critique last week. I settled down my question to solve: How might we help freelancers to improve their wellbeing?

I proposed 3 concepts:

Special thanks to Mr. Sky White and Ms. Maya Latimore for the valuable feedback. Here are some questions and suggestions I got:

Questions:

  1. Are freelancers forced to chose this working style? Do they prefer to be full-time workers?
  2. Is there a way to teach the freelancers to write a contract with more fun?
  3. How’s COVID affect the freelancer job market positively? Is there a trend of “traveling while working” since everything is happening remotely?
  4. How to deeply dive into freelancers’ tone? Change the way of storytelling based on the audience group.
  5. How to package all these?
  6. What kind of media do I want to present the idea to?

Things to look into:

  1. Talking to some freelancers with a market agency background.
  2. An open letter on requiring diversity from our vendors and partners
  3. Working Not Working
  4. Talking Not Talking
  5. DIY — Huge library of hands-on projects, how-to videos, and an awesome kid community.
